About Monolith Forensics
At Monolith Forensics, we’re building the next generation of digital forensics software. Our platform empowers cybersecurity professionals and forensic analysts to work faster and smarter when uncovering critical evidence in complex cases. We’re a small, fast-moving team with big ambitions—creating tools that directly impact how justice and truth are pursued in the digital age.
The Role
We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help shape the future of Monolith’s platform. In this role, you’ll work across the stack—building elegant, responsive front-end experiences in React, robust Node.js services, and scalable data solutions backed by MySQL and AWS. You’ll collaborate closely with our small but passionate team, taking ownership of features from concept to production.
This is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX (or within Central Texas). We believe in flexible work but value in-person collaboration when tackling big challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain user-facing features in our React single-page application.
- Develop and optimize backend APIs and services with Node.js and Express.
- Work with relational data models in MySQL, including performance tuning for large datasets.
- Leverage AWS infrastructure (EKS, S3, RDS, etc.) to build scalable, secure systems.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to translate forensic workflows into intuitive software tools.
- Take part in architectural discussions and contribute ideas that shape our technical direction.
- Own projects end-to-end in a startup-like environment where your work makes an immediate impact.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of professional full stack development experience.
- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience with SQL databases (MySQL preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred).
- A problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to thrive in a small, collaborative team where flexibility and ownership are key.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in digital forensics, cybersecurity, or e-discovery (not required but a plus).
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of large-scale data handling or search systems (OpenSearch/Elasticsearch).
Why Join Us?
- Impact that matters: Your work will directly empower investigators and legal teams in uncovering truth in critical cases.
- Startup energy: Join a small, tight-knit team where you’ll have a voice in technical and product decisions.
- Growth opportunities: As an early team member, you’ll shape not just our technology but our culture and processes.
- Mission-driven work: Be part of a company committed to building powerful tools that support justice, security, and accountability in the digital world.
